Kim Bouwer
Kim is a member of the police law team having extensive experience of litigating on behalf of trade unions.
Kim trained and qualified as an attorney in South Africa in 2000. Kim undertook community work at the University of the Witwatersrand Law Clinic in Johannesburg from 1999 – 2000, which includes a unit that specialises in actions against the police for various forms of abuse, including torture.
After moving to the UK, Kim initially worked in housing and public law before specialising in work based personal injury claims. Her work has included high value trauma cases, including brain and spinal injury. She also developed interests in industrial diseases, including asbestos related illnesses, and claims relating to psychiatric injury, including bullying and harassment cases. Kim was admitted as a solicitor in 2003 and is a member of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) being accredited with Senior Litigator status.
Kim has a degree in Law & Philosophy and a postgraduate LLB. She is currently reading for a Masters in Human Rights Law at Birkbeck College, which she intends to complete in October 2007.
