Anne Singh

Anne Singh’s practice focuses on the rights of those detained under immigration laws and facing removal from the UK with a particular emphasis on public law litigation. Anne has extensive experience of litigation against the Home Office and has been involved in a number of test cases seeking to address strategic issues.

She has a particular interest in challenging Home Office decisions affecting those who are stateless, whose nationality is disputed and/or who are from areas of armed conflict. Anne’s practice is predominantly in mounting public law challenges, seeking to hold public bodies accountable, either through judicial review or by pursuing complaints against public authorities through to the Ombudmsan.

Anne trained at Winstanley-Burgess, a leading refugee and civil liberties solicitors’ practice. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1998 and has since worked for the Hackney Law Centre, Christian Khan Solicitors, the Refugee Legal Centre and the Public Law Project.

She has written for the CPAG, the Institute of Race Relations, Tolley’s Journal of Immigration Asylum and Nationality Law and the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA). She is an active member of ILPA and has presented training seminars for practitioners on statelessness and effective Judicial Review.
